Maiken Solemdal, Commercial Manager at Yilport Oslo will speak on day two of GreenPort Congress 2019 covering the topic of how short sea shipping can compete with road trucks.

Maiken Solemdal joined Yilport Oslo in 2014 as a part of the start-up team after Yilport won the concession of operating the container terminal in Oslo, and holds the position of Commercial Manager. She started her career in the finance industry at Siemens Financial Services and has also worked with financing in Shipping & Offshore.

Oslo is the main container hub in Norway and Yilport has the last years shown a significant growth in container volume. Yilport’s strategy is to take more Intra-European cargo from road to sea by providing sustainable and reliable solutions that can compete with road trucks.

Solemdal has a Bachelor in Economics and Business Law from BI, Norwegian Business School and a MBA from Hawaii Pacific University.

Maiken will be speaking in session 6, ‘Green logistics: multimodal supply chains’ which will take place on 17 October 2019 at the Felix Conference Centre, Oslo, Norway.
