Dublin Port Company (DPC) has provided an update on its 3FM Project. The changes proposed are a direct result of an extensive consultation process and a consideration of alternative options – a key requirement of the planning process. A proposed 15ha container yard was due to be built next to Sandymount’s UNESCO protected beach. The original plan was to see containers stacked three units high, but residents raised concerns over noise and visual appearance, so this facility will instead store ro-ro cargo.
