The Port of Antwerp International (PAI) is to collaborate in the growth of a new deep sea facility in Espírito Santo.
The new container port, Companhia Docas do Espírito Santo (CODESA) located at Vitória, could be operational within three to five years and is being billed as a way to leverage the local economy, as the project will enable the entry of larger vessels.
Still in the planning stages, the project is looking to use its partnership with the Port of Antwerp International (PAI) to gain free consultancy services for the financial, construction and management stages of the port’s development.
Angelo Baptista, chief executive of CODESA explained: "This is a way of seeking opportunities and enhancing trade relations.”
