Australian port investor Asciano has reported success with its capital-raising programme but remains cautious on the prospects of full economic recovery.
In its annual report, the company said it had come through the year retaining its assets and was in a position to complete a restructure by the middle of 2010.
However while freight volumes may be stabilising, signs of an imminent recovery in the domestic and international economies were few.
The company hopes to achieve A$90m (US$83m) cost savings by 2010/11.
