Emerson Control Techniques (stand E32) offers an innovative solution to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. RIS. GA. is a compact low cost fuel saving and emissions reducing system that can be easily installed on new or existing RTG and MHC diesel electric cranes. Operators can save up to 50% on fuel consumption during the crane’s stand-by-mode and more than 20% fuel consumption overall. An emerging trend in container ports around the world is to convert RTGs from diesel power to electric, or to a combination of the two. Conductix-Wampfler (stand F34) has extensively tested two basic approaches to electrifying RTGs including the installation of cable reels on the RTGs or the use of specially designed conductor rail systems. Conductix Wampfler has successfully completed installations using both methods and can offer terminal operators consultation on the best method for their operation. Hi-Tech Solutions Ltd. (stand F28) will introduce new CCR and LPR based, comprehensive end-to-end gate solutions for port authorities and operators, cargo railway stations and various container terminals. Interschalt (stand B28) will present its latest software development, STOWMAN, a software solution for the increasingly important stowage planning process. APS Technology Group (stand E16) is unveiling APS Kiosk, its latest gate automisation solution. Once deployed, the system will automate entry and exit at the facility gates, reducing gate transaction time and enhancing throughput capacity. Additionally, the kiosk will provide enhanced driver security by integrating the automatic reading and authentication of the TWIC card.
