The Lebanese government will issue a tender by the end of April for a $120m expansion of the port of Beirut. Work is due to take no more than 30 months and will boost capacity to 450,000 teu. A new 40,000 sq m piece of land will be reclaimed, increasing Quay 16 by 500 metres.
