Freeport seeks investment

Cheayee Dee, md of Liberias National Port Authority claims that at least $40m will be needed to bring Freeport back to internationally acceptable standards following 15 years of civil war.

Overall, he notes, Indian ports are beginning to lack competitiveness compared to other regional players, which places the country’s overseas trade at risk.

Most of the current equipment needs replacing if the port is to achieve reasonable productivity standards he noted.
