Terminal Intermodale di Nola to provide a Mediterranean road/rail platform

UK Shipping Minister Stephen Ladyman is seeking views on the paper, entitled: "Towards a future Maritime Policy for the Union: A European vision for the Oceans and Sea." Reports on the paper could mould the future direction of EU policy on a number of maritime issues.

Management strategy will focus on high efficiency, cost effectiveness, fast turn-around of trucks and trains, EDP, EDI and hi-tech investments, among other things. "TIN will give both the ports of Salerno and Naples an extremely good intermodal opportunity for the future for import cargo from Far East and India/ Pakistan," said TIN executive director, Gallozzi Group general manager and Salerno Container Terminal managing director Frans Jol. "The opening of the Volcano Shopping centre located at Nola at the end of 2007, the CIS structure and direct selling from the same area will bring great economic growth and increase the need for intermodalism."

The shareholding will see Agostino Gallozzi assuming the managing director's position at TIN and both Agostino Gallozzi and Frans Jol will take up positions on the board of TIN. Gallozzi states that direct block trains connections from Gioia Tauro, Taranto and Bari are available to TIN and the Group is prepared to invest in further train leases to meet customer demands.
