Gasmet conducts toxic gas analysis
Gasmet Technologies has published new materials to help to assess and subsequently reduce the risks of toxic gases in freight containers to port and transport workers, custom officials, warehousemen, store employees and consumers.
The new materials include a video, a white paper and a case study, all providing comprehensive help and advice for any employers that need to assess such risks in order to protect the health and welfare of staff and customers.
According to Gasmet, the air quality inside freight containers varies enormously depending on the goods, the packing materials, transit time, temperature, humidity and the possible presence of fumigants. Consequently, many containers contain dangerous levels of toxic gases.
Traditional monitoring techniques employ a ‘hit and miss’ approach. However, the new video published by Gasmet has demonstrated the advantages of simultaneous multigas analysis.
This monitoring capability is provided by the Gasmet DX4040, a portable FTIR analyser that is capable of detecting and measuring hundreds of compounds.
