Barcelona gains information system

This system, which will improve the port’s processes and operational efficiency, should result in better coordination and faster and more efficient information exchange between the operational parties in the port.

In addition it will allow the port of Barcelona to integrate all aspects of Port Information Management operational and business requirements into one comprehensive solution with other systems such as VTS/AIS, Lloyds Registration, customs, agencies, weather information, document management applications as a result of which the port as a whole will benefit from more efficient planning and handling of ships.

The projects will be executed with a local partner and will be completed in early 2012.
