Growth slows at Spanish ports
Growth at Spanish ports in 2012 had slowed notably by the end of the year.
In the first three quarters, overall, traffic handled had gone up by 6.3%. However, in the subsequent two months, volumes handled began to decline, bringing overall growth down to just 4.95%.
November was a particularly bad month, with 2.1m tonnes fewer being handled than in the same months in 2011. Despite this, the 433.4m tonnes handled in those first 11 months was still 20.4m tonnes higher than the same period in 2011.
