Bari terminal concession cancelled

The Italian government has told Levante Port Authority that it must cancel the 20-year Bari Porto Mediterraneo concession, which had been unlawfully issued, directly and without competition.

According to HHLA, working time will be cut by 10% in some cases and by up to 100% in others, with 450 of its 2,000 workers placed on training programmes. The measures were adopted as a means of preventing permanent redundancies, with the short-term cuts in work funded through a government programme.
