In draft legislation, the Indonesian government is planning to limit all port concessions to no more than 30 years.
As part of the change in legislation, there will be a clear distinction between the duties of the port regulator and those of port operators.In future, regional and municipal governments will also be given more power to develop local port projects, since these are more aware of problems at local level.
