Iraqi tensions abate over new Kuwait port

The recent tension between Iraq and Kuwait over the latters project to construct Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port close to the border with Iraq seems to have abated.

A member of Iraqi’s Foreign Relations Committee has publicly asserted the right of Kuwait to build the port in its present location.

He based his statements on a recent parliamentary report, which showed that the new facility would not impact negatively on naval mobility in Iraqi waters.
