Three 80 tonne Rotortugs – RT Champion, RT Leader and RT Tasman – are in charge of 24/7 berthing and un-berthing operations of LNG tankers, standby services during loading, oil spill response and firefighting duties.

“Our company is expanding its innovative approach in services to ports and terminals around the world. A dedicated service for Brunei Shell Petroleum reflects the strength of KOTUG as a leading provider of towage services and will strengthen our global presence,” said Ard-Jan Kooren, CEO.

“Thanks to our proven track record and in partnership with Brunei Shell Petroleum Company, we are able to present ourselves as an international maritime service provider, combining the skills of our highly trained and dedicated crew with our sophisticated fleet of powerful tugs,” added Osman Munir, director terminal and joint ventures.

To support its growth, KOTUG says it will continue to invest in renewing its environmental-friendly fleet and will further expand its fleet capacity. During the coming six months, new state-of-the-art Rotortugs are to be delivered, of which two will be hybrid versions. The so-called E-KOTUG will be added to the company’s European fleet.
