APMT and Bahrain Steel complete capacity study

APM Terminals and Bahrain Steel have completed an exploration of ways to increase capacity at Bahrain Steel’s Terminal at Khalifa Bin Salman Port

The two-year study was carried out at the National Maritime College of Ireland, in collaboration with global towage provider Svitzer and the support of the Bahrain Ports and Maritime Affairs.

Through data analysis and scenario modelling, the companies were able how best to allocate resource such as berths, tugboats, and essential equipment.
