DP World has followed the signing of an agreement to remain at Sydney''s Port Botany for another 15 years by committing to a programme of new investment.
The lease agreement includes a capital expenditure commitment and aligns with the New South Wales state government model for stevedore leases which includes incentives for the attainment of performance benchmarks in shiploading functions, road connections and rail servicing operations.
Part of the government's port objectives is to attain 40% rail mode share of containers to and from Port Botany.
DP World has also recently extended its leases in Brisbane and Adelaide.
