TIPC Now Five-Time Winner of a Prestigious “Happy Enterprise” Gold Award

Supported by solid humanistic management values and practices, Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC) was recently honored with a Happy Enterprise Gold Award (trade and logistics category) for the fifth time in the 1111 Job Bank Happy Enterprise Awards.

The award acknowledges TIPC’s long-term efforts and achievements in the realms of employee care, organizational resilience, and sustainable development. The port group’s standout performance against stiff competition from over 4,000 businesses not only attests to the strength of TIPC’s internal governance but also reflects the authentic feelings of its many employees.

Happy Enterprise Award nominees are subject to a rigorous and impartial vetting process of online voting and anonymous in-person evaluations that target employee care and welfare practices, workplace environments, employee management systems, staff training and development opportunities, corporate culture, and the attainment of corporate social responsibility and ESG benchmarks. TIPC’s status as a five-time winner reflects strongly on its successful weaving of “human-oriented” management principles into TIPC corporate cultural values and subsequent positive influence on employee retention and organizational competitiveness.

TIPC notes that maritime and shipping services is an attractive sector to many job seekers. To attract top talent, the company pursues a strategy of “mutual benefit and sustainable happiness” that includes continuous training and professional enhancement aimed at fostering a positive “4F” (flexibility, friendly, family, and future) framework that helps employees at different points in their career meet their specific needs and expectations. With regard to “Flexibility” (i.e., flexible management), TIPC offers flexible clock-in / clock-out times, vacation scheduling, and remote work opportunities to help employees advance in their career while maintaining a good quality of life. With regard to “Friendly” (i.e., friendly work environment), TIPC actively promotes diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) to foster respectful, safe, and mutually supportive workplaces. With regard to “Family” (i.e., treating employees as family), regular health-promoting events, childcare support, and family outreach programs help ensure TIPC “walks with” its employees through life. Finally, with regard to “Future” (i.e., opening doors to opportunity), staff training, career development, and education resources put employees in charge of their future in close partnership with TIPC.

Furthermore, TIPC has transformed the principle of “good work, good life” into a pillar of regular corporate management, ensuring all TIPC employees, while contributing their professional expertise on the job, have access to the flexibilities and considerations necessary to maintain a good quality of life. This creates a positive feedback loop that further benefits and strengthens the overall workplace experience, not only enhancing the employee experience but also strengthening teamwork as well as overall corporate performance.

In the arena of sustainable development, TIPC continues to closely integrate its employee care practices with corporate ESG policies, in resonance with the core spirit of the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals “Decent Work and Economic Growth” (SDG 8) and “Good Health and Well-Being” (SDG 3). A key aim of this effort is to reflect TIPC corporate responsibility in the provision and maintenance of work environments that are safe, friendly, and actively promote personal development and growth.

Being a 5-time winner of a Gold Happy Enterprise Award, while a great honor, pushes TIPC to aim even higher going forward. In the future, TIPC will continue to see its employees as the foundation of its operations, pursue long-term business sustainability, further enrich its employee-happiness mission, and allow employees to work in confidence and peace of mind with the goals of healthy corporate growth and the creation of a future that is mutually beneficial and sustainably happy.
