Raised to new heights
After ten years of operating two Kalmar rubber-tyred gantry (RTGs) cranes, Buenos Aires Container Terminal Services has looked to Cargotec Argentina to raise the performance of their existing RTGs from 1 over 4 to 1 over 5 containers high.
Cargotec Argentina’s structural and mechanical calculations allowed the length of the columns to be increased by 2.9 metres through the installation of column extensions.
These were manufactured by local suppliers, under the close supervision of experts from Cargotec Argentina.
