Russia Transport Minister Igor Levitin has revealed plans to build a new port at Nakhodka, near Vladivostok, capable of handling 5m teu/year.

The port of Ust-Luga is also to have its capacity boosted to 3m teu, while Novorossiysk's capacity will increase to 2m teu and Oin Baltiysk's to 3.5m teu. Forecasters predict a need for 15m teu capacity throughout Russia by 2015.
