The AP Moller Maersk company, Stillstrom, is collaborating with the Port of Aberdeen, Scotland to assess charging alternatives for idling vessels outside the port in a bid to reduce emissions. Under the agreement, Stillstrom and the Port of Aberdeen are conducting a joint feasibility study into an innovative offshore renewable charging hub. Stillstrom has confirmed that results are expected at the end of 2022 and will then be used to develop a roadmap for the potential introduction of offshore charging infrastructure.
