The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) partnership of the ports of Seattle and Tacoma has launched its 2023 Rail Cargo Incentive Program. The initiative off ers a US$50 incentive per rail move for eligible rail volumes moving through the port gateway from May 1, 2023, with the hope that it could generate up to 60,000 additional rail lifts – a total that equals almost 15 per cent of the total international intermodal rail lifts passing through Seattle-Tacoma in 2022.
