PSA unveils new transport tool
PSA Singapore and Enterprise Singapore have developed a new cloud-based transport management solution.
OptETruck uses artificial intelligence to aid trip planning and make operations more efficient for hauliers in Singapore, helping them reduce carbon emissions and costs.
“Digitalisation and decarbonisation are key to future-proofing our SMEs in the logistics industry,” said Law Chung Ming, executive director of transport and logistics at Enterprise Singapore.
“We will continue to support the development of innovative digital solutions such as OptETruck, which can enhance the productivity of SMEs by encouraging job and asset sharing.”
OptETruck uses predictive modelling to automate scheduling, matching and recommending jobs to reduce the number of empty trips. The tool also features asset pooling enabling hauliers and their partners to share resources.
A number of haulier companies are already using OptETruck and the port reports they have been able to halve the number of empty truck trips, saving around 10 million kg of CO2 emissions per year.
With the Digital Achievers (Team) award at the Tech Leader Awards 2023 already under its belt, OptETruck will be integrated with PSA’s existing digital solutions – SmartBooking and iBOX.
“OptETruck and the full suite of digital solutions will strengthen and bring about a smarter and more sustainable supply chain and logistics ecosystem in Singapore,” said Seow Hwee, Head of Port Business, PSA Southeast Asia.
