Three multi-purpose terminals up for grabs

This will handle both agribulk and containers. A previous tender was declared null and void on 29 December 2014, following no bids.

Up to $170m of investment will be required, of which $40m will come from the province. The facility is to be build on the right bank of the Paraná River at around KM584, which is the last point on the inland waterway network accessible by deep sea vessels.

In the Canary Islands, Las Palmas port authority has also issued a tender for a multi-purpose terminal, covering an area of 63,555 sq m on Muelle de Gran Canaria. A concession of 15-22 years is being offered, the exact length dependent on investment. Bids must be received by March 7.

To ensure that the maximum number of bids can be achieved, El Salvador’s National Ports Authority (CEPA) has extended the deadline for bids to be received for the La Unión Centroamericana multi-purpose terminal (specialising in containers) until March 7.
