Tidal Thames sewage ban from July 2024

Ship operators still have a year to adapt their vessels before a ban on sewage discharges in the tidal Thames comes into force

A ban on commercial vessels discharging sewage to the tidal River Thames will come into force on 1 July 2024.

The Port of London Authority announced the ban on 1 March 2021 to give operators time to make alternative arrangements on board their vessels.
