Capacity rise for Abidjan

Bolloré Africa Logistics – through its operating subsidiary SETV – is investing ¢ 45m ($59.9m) to increase productivity at the Abidjan container terminal on the Ivory Coast.

Port Strategy: Abidjan will benefit from investment

The investment will provide eight Konecranes RTGs capable of handling containers. These will increase storage and raise the port’s annual throughput capacity to 800,000 teu.

These units join a recent fourth post-Panamax gantry crane, and eight other RTG container handling cranes delivered in 2008.

The investment programme also includes the repair of 300 metres of quay and the extension of the crane tracks with a view to the installation of two more quayside gantry cranes in five years’ time.
