Container and LNG infrastructure lacking in Europe
A study prepared on behalf of the European Commission identified a mounting need for investment in port infrastructure, specifically to handle containers and liquefied natural gas.
Significantly, one of the recommendations of the study was that the procedures for environmental assessment and all related approvals needed assessing and reviewing.
Implementation times are currently viewed as much too long for major new projects.
