Electric material handler saves operating costs
A new Sennebogen balance material handler is helping to save one operator up to 75% in operating costs, thanks to a sophisticated balance principle and electric drive.
Port logistics and shipping services expert, Buss Erk, a subsidiary of The Hamburg Buss Group, handles around two million tonnes of mass and general cargo in LimakPort Turkey annually.
The operator has been using Sennebogen material handlers in the loading and unloading of the ships of up to 30,000 DWT.
But this new Sennebogen 8160 EQ balance material handler with a reach of 30m gives the operator a larger reach in demanding handling operation and greater cost savings.
Thanks to an extended reach, the machine not only comfortably covers a work surface of 2,800 m², but also the ships that require handling can handle cargo deep within the ship’s hull with the attached double shell grab.
The 8160 EQ is powered by a 160kW electric motor. The machine is connected to the power supply via the cable drum mounted on the crawler undercarriage and, at the same time, can still be driven flexibly along the quays.
