Konecranes unveils new greener lift trucks
Konecranes has launched a new range of lift trucks complete with EU stage 4/EPA 4f engines, which are said to offer lower fuel consumption, reduced emissions and more power.
Konecranes says its new range has been designed to help shipowners meet the latest emission legislation in Europe and North America, with focus on operational economy, increased uptime, reduced emissions and strong performance.
“Our intention is to always be at the engineering forefront, offering the latest development in engines to our customers,” said Daniel Sjöstrand, product manager, Lift Trucks, Konecranes. “We can now meet the latest EU stage 4/EPA 4f environmental standards, improving the efficiency of our products.”
In order to help shipowners meet EU stage 4 legislation, Konecranes’ engine manufacturers have developed selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems. The maintenance-free after treatment systems are said to reduce NOx and soot particle levels while offering increased performance and productivity, together with reduced noise levels.
“These engines will not only improve the day-to-day work environment of our customers, but will ultimately make a difference to the larger environment as well,” added Mr Sjöstrand.
