Liebherr reackstacker offers improve performance
Swiss-headquartered port equipment manufacturer Liebherr unveiled two new reachstacker models at TOC Europe 2018 in Rotterdam.
The products comprise the LRS 545 – 35 reachstacker with a 35-tonne lifting capacity in the second container row and the LRS 545 Log Handler for timber handling, which has a 8.2 m² grapple capacity.
Discussing the LRS 545 – 35, Liebherr said that it has developed a more powerful reachstacker without changing the chassis of the common LRS series.
As for the LRS 545 Log Handler, Liebherr said that its design is optimised for quick and easy service and all relevant parts are easily accessible, reducing idling times.
With up to 30 tonnes lifting capacity, the new handler has a telescopic boom that permits a range of up to 8.5 metres and a stacking height of up to 8.9 metres, and logs can also be handled below ground level with the product, Liebherr explained.
Commenting on the launch of the two products, Eric Colditz, Liebherr’s sales director for reachstackers, said that the units are in response to customer feedback over the last three years.
