Loaders get magnetic boost
The Russian Port of Visotskiy has recently installed two more Lancaster ship loaders to double the number at the port.
Port Visotskiy, a major coal port, puts the systems to work 24 hours per day at loading rates of 600 tonnes per hour. However, the mined coal can contain considerable levels of tramp metal. So, the ingenious solution has been to combine the mobile loader – from B&W Mechanical Handling Limited – with a permanent magnet system in order to remove the unwanted iron, while forming a stockpile.
