Dust suppression technology specialist, Dust Control Technology, has introduced a new trailer-mounted dust control system, with a range of 100 metres and the ability to deliver over 15,000sqm of coverage area.
Designed for large open-air applications such as mines, coal handling plants and aggregate operations, the DB-100 Fusion delivers particle control in a mobile platform that can be positioned directly at the source of dust-generating activities, even on sites without an available power supply.
“We had many discussions with customers who were interested in expanding their dust management coverage, after seeing our smaller DB-60 Fusion,” commented the US company’s president, Laura Stiverson.
“We engineered the new design to meet those needs, yet still remain highly mobile, able to be towed easily just about anywhere on a job site,” she added.
The unit features an atomised mist design and is powered by its own 150kW generator with a 6.8l John Deere Tier III flex diesel engine mounted on a choice of dual-axle trailer options with stabilising jacks. The 570l fuel tank provides 32 hours of run time without the need for refuelling.
Unlike industrial sprinkler systems used for dust management, which can require as much as 1,893SLM of water, the DB-100 Fusion uses only about 143.8SLM making it less wasteful and helping to avoid pooling or runoff.
By providing mobile power, the design requires only a water source for operation. The unit can be set up to run potable water and can also be outfitted with a selection of filters to handle non-potable water sources.
