Marijn Moesbergen, Cocoa Sourcing Lead – Cargill and Almar van Herk, Senior Business Development Manager - Kotug will deliver the joint keynote address during session 2 of the conference, ‘Advancing Supply Chain Resilience & Embracing The Benefits Of Modal Shift’ on Wednesday 24 April.

Marijn and Almar will discuss their key partnership which resulted in the deployment of Kotug’s zero emission E-Pusher™ and E-Barges, the world’s first fully electric pusher boat and barges. The partnership was formed to enable Cargill to transport cocoa beans from the Port of Amsterdam, the largest cocoa import port in the world, to the company’s cocoa factory in Zaandam, the Netherlands.

The fully electric pusher boats and barges are expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 190.000 kg per year, the equivalent of 15.000 single trips of the same distance by truck. The vessels run on green energy from the wind farm that Cargill and Vattenfall operate in partnership with Windpark Hanze, ensuring a zero-emission end-to-end journey.

Secure your delegate place today to hear from Marijn and Almar on their leading partnership and gain technical insight on the future of zero emission projects.
