The Conference

More details about the conference - this year’s event, its history, and further information.

The Coastlink Conference, organised by Mercator, is held in leading maritime cities across both the UK and Europe.

Within the last several years the conference has taken place in Southampton (2019), Antwerp (2022), Liverpool (2023) and Port of Amsterdam (2024), Port of Bilbao (2025), ABP on the Humber (2026).

In 2027 Coastlink will take place in partnership with Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals and Port of Rotterdam and is set to cover a number of leading sector topics.

Rotterdam Shortsea Terminals (RST) is Europe’s largest dedicated hub for short‑sea and feeder shipping, operating at the heart of the Port of Rotterdam with efficient container handling and strong road, rail and inland waterway connections. The Port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest seaport and a key global logistics gateway, offering extensive short‑sea and deep‑sea networks that connect international trade routes with major European markets. Together, they play a central role in enabling fast, reliable and well‑connected maritime transport across Europe.

Coastlink is a neutral pan-European network dedicated to the promotion of short sea and feeder shipping, and, the intermodal transport networks that support the sector. The conference promotes debate on the challenges and opportunities affecting the industry, whilst enabling conference delegates and participants to establish and build on relationships through the networking opportunities on offer.

It is a place for industry professionals to meet and discuss future innovation, economic and environmental considerations – and develop partnerships that will help build a sustainable future.
