Le Havre is an important cross-Channel ferry port, and its highlights include an impressive modern art museum, picturesque marina, and beach.

A major port city in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region of northern France, Le Havre is situated on the right bank of the estuary of the river Seine.

Rebuilt from the ground up after World War II, Le Havre is an architectural showcase. The unusual concrete buildings resulted in the city centre becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005. A modern grid-like layout makes it easy to navigate the centre of the city.

Commenting on the choice of Le Havre for GreenPort Congress and Cruise, Edouard PHILIPPE, Mayor of le Havre and former French Prime Minister says, “I’m delighted to be hosting the next GreenPort Congress and Cruise in Le Havre, an international event that gathers the port community to discuss the latest in sustainable practice. The Port of Le Havre is already very committed to this green approach - HAROPA PORT is an example of the best France has to offer in terms of decarbonization of transport and industry. Le Havre is also the headquarters of the International Association of Cities and Ports, so it’s only natural that we wanted this 2024 edition to be held here”.

This is the 19th edition of GreenPort Congress & Cruise conference, an event which provides the port community with the latest updates on sustainable environmental practices. Leading speakers in the sector offer valuable insights, contributing to the work already being undertaken by maritime ports and terminals in reducing carbon footprints and dealing with environmental considerations, both vital to their future success.

Learning, networking and exchanging of information will once again be integral to this key business opportunity.
