Founder and CEO Raj Kehal will also be Moderator of second session
The international Women in Ports network has joined GreenPort Congress 2026 as a Supporter of the 7-9 October event at Portsmouth International Port.
As a global community Women in Ports argues that the maritime industry stands at a critical crossroads where gender diversity is not just a social imperative but an increasing business necessity.
With women holding just 16% of port operations roles globally, and only 1.3% of seafaring roles, the group seeks to unlock opportunities for women across the ports industry while supporting the maritime sector’s shift towards more sustainable, environmentally responsible operations.
Women in Ports was founded by Raj Kehal in 2024 in collaboration with Port Skills and Safety, UK Major Ports Group, and the British Ports Association, and now also supports Maritime UK’s Women in Maritime initiative.
Now CEO of the groundbreaking organisation, Kehal brings more than 20 years’ experience across ports, finance, technology and public service, most recently as Head of Stakeholder Engagement at the Port of London Authority.
She will bring her experience to bear as Moderator of the second session at GreenPort Congress – How monitoring, measurement and environmental intelligence are delivering smarter data decisions.
A strong advocate for women’s leadership and inclusive growth in the maritime sector, and also a strategic communications professional, Kehal will no doubt be guided by the Women in Ports motto — ‘Collaboration, not Competition’.
