Digital Innovation and Simulation Centre is shaping the future of sustainable ports

One of the undoubted highlights of GreenPort Congress 2026 is sure to be the exclusive technical visit that is now available to registered delegates signed up for the Portsmouth event, 7-9 October.
On offer is the first opportunity to experience BMT’s extraordinary Digital Innovation and Simulation Centre (DISC), from a port operations perspective.
A Silver Sponsor of GreenPort Congress, and a world-leading, maritime specialist, BMT’s advanced simulation and immersive digital technology, DISC SIM, brings complex port scenarios to life, helping stakeholders explore decisions, test ideas and de‑risk future projects in a realistic, virtual environment.
Places are strictly limited for the Friday, 9 October visit, and are reserved for registered GreenPort Congress delegates, offering a unique opportunity to see BMT’s DISC SIM in action and to explore how cutting‑edge simulation can shape the future of sustainable, efficient ports.
Opened in February, DISC brings BMT’s innovations together in one integrated space powered by the award‑winning and DNV‑accredited BMT REMBRANDT (Real-Time Manoeuvring, Berthing and Training) navigation simulator.
Located in nearby Fareham, DISC includes a reconfigurable Full Mission Bridge (FMB) for defence and commercial vessels, two 360‑degree pod simulators, two small‑vessel simulators, a Remote Operations Centre (ROC), and a Scenario Control Room.
In addition, one of the UK’s largest specialised LED video walls provides a fully immersive canvas for multi‑vessel operations, port and coastal studies, complex tow‑outs, incident reconstructions and digital storyboards.
DISC also hosts MASS SEAS (the Marine Autonomous Surface Ship Synthetic Environment Assurance System), allowing customers and regulators to run DNV‑grade, simulator‑based trials of autonomous navigation systems and demonstrate compliance with emerging MASS and COLREGs requirements in a modern, accredited facility.
