CLK - CLK Live Speakers Sept 2021

The next Coastlink Live session will focus on Short Sea Feeder Shipping: Navigating through road-freight supply chain challenges, looking at the opportunities for expanding short sea feeder services to alleviate pressure on long haul road freight.

Delivering the welcome address at Coastlink Live is Justin Atkin, UK & Ireland Representative at the Port of Antwerp. Justin comments “With the shortage of truck drivers showing little sign of improving coupled with growing consumer demand for products with a lower environmental impact, supply chains managers are being challenged to find more reliable, safe and sustainable transportation solutions.  Join the discussion at Coastlink Live where our panel of sector experts will discuss the role that coastal and short sea shipping is playing in delivering re-engineered supply chains.”

Our panel of experts joining Justin Atkin on 30 September are:

  • John Lucy, Head of International Transport at the Road Haulage Association Ltd will discuss the capacity issues in the road freight sector, and the changing supply chain geography, modal changes, near shoring and port centric challenges and opportunities for road freight.
  • Richard Newton, Commercial Director Logistics, at the Port of Tyne will highlight the benefits of bringing cargo and freight closer to the final destination – saving time, miles, emissions and cost.
  • David Cook, Group Logistics Manager, at TATA Consumer Products – as an international shipper of goods, David will provide his insight on TATA’s port-centric operations and their on-going strategy to use shortsea and feeder services.

Register today for this free-to-attend session and take the opportunity to present your questions to the panel in the live Q&A.
