If you missed the Coastlink Live bitesize sessions in April and September, these are now available for you to watch on the Coastlink website. Join our Chairman – Nick Lambert, Director and Co-Founder of NLA International, host-port representative – Justin Atkin, UK & Ireland representative for the Port of Antwerp, and select panel of experts as they discuss topical issues affecting the industry.

In April, Coastlink Live addressed the timely topic of Short Sea Shipping: Adapting the supply chain in the post-Brexit era, engaging with industry professionals - Stephen Carr, Group Commercial Director, of Peel Ports, Alan Platt, Chief Executive Officer at John Good Group, and Alex Veitch, General Manager – Public Policy at Logistics UK. With a significant increase and expansion of routes from the EU to the UK, the general consensus was that the future is bright for short sea shipping.

In September, with supply chains being hampered due to driver shortages, Coastlink Live tackled the topic of Short Sea Feeder Shipping: Navigating through road-freight supply chain challenges. Experts joining us for this session included John Lucy, Head of International Transport at the Road Haulage Association, Richard Newton, Commercial Director Logistics at the Port of Tyne, and David Cook, Group Logistics Manager at TATA Consumer Products. With short sea shipping and port centric operations delivering a higher level of resilience to the supply chain, it was considered that short sea and feeder services not only deliver a more reliant method of moving goods but also one that is greener and more cost effective.
