Jonathan Abrahams, Head of Maritime Advisory, DNV Australia will be presenting on Day 1 in Session 1 - Renewable Energy - Journey to Net Zero on ‘Incentivising cleaner shipping in Ports through the Environmental Port Index and other levers’

DNV along with the Port of Bergen on Norway’s west coast, have developed a model to capture ship specific data on emissions that quantifies and reports the environmental impact of ships. This is then in turn used to reward those ships with the lowest emissions by reducing port fees and thereby provide the incentive for ship owners/operators to increase their investment in green solutions.

The presentation will provide a background to the Environmental Port Index (EPI) Portal project as well as share some of the results that include a demonstration of the reporting dashboard/portal that collates, assures and reports data received from vessels.

Jonathan is the head of Maritime Advisory in Australia and has spent 15 years with DNV working in Europe, Middle East, Asia and ANZ. Jonathan is an experienced Project Management including leading multi discipline scopes of work covering technical, operational and market-based outcomes included several projects in Australia, Asia and Europe.
