Heidi Neilson, Head of Planning and Environment, Port of Oslo confirmed as a speaker at GreenPort Congress & Cruise on 18th October.

Heidi will be presenting on Day 1 in session 3 – Congress on Sustainable Partnerships. Her presentation entitled ” Ports and cities have same ambitious climate goals” details that the seven ports in the Oslofjord have cooperated to ensure same and standard onshore power solutions. They want more charging for trucks and plan for new renewable fuels. For two years seven ports have showed shipping lines business cases to retrofit with a payback time in 2-5 years. Spoken to grid owners and planning authorities to show how ports have a key role in supplying renewable fuels. Shown port actors and transport companies what zero emissions solutions the market has to offer.

The seven port cities have ambitious climate goals. They want move towards zero emission in 2030. That means reducing emissions from ships, terminals and road transport.

Heidi Neilson holds a master degree in Geography, and a bachelor degree in Environmental Management. The mix of natural and social sciences is useful since the port’s environmental impact as well as the influence on city development is important in the Oslo Fjord City of Norway.
