Post-Brexit & Post-Pandemic: Are we where we need to be?

Joining the Coastlink panel discussion focussing on ‘Post-brexit & post-pandemic – are we where we need to be?’ Doug will provide his insight as CEO of the busiest port in Europe. The panel session, moderated by Richard Ballantyne OBE, Chief Executive of the British Ports Association, will debate matters such as: the current position with EU-UK trade flows; the need for frictionless trade; the challenges surrounding port congestion; and the future challenges and opportunities for short sea routes.

Doug was appointed CEO of the Port of Dover in January 2019, having previously held the role of Group CEO for the Ports of Jersey, which operates the island’s harbours, coastguard, marinas, and airport. Doug has had over 30 years’ experience in leading international businesses, including Managing Director of Maersk Line UK, as well as various executive roles managing shipping businesses in North America, Europe, Asia, India, Australia, and New Zealand.
