Workshop topics announced for GreenPort Congress!

The 2025 GreenPort Congress event will run 2 bespoke workshops alongside conference sessions.

These sessions will inform and educate to provide GreenPort Congress delegates with the perfect opportunity to learn from fellow attendees and deliver a snapshot of the views and recommendations of professional practitioners of port environmental management.

Workshop 1: Circular Economy Strategies and Indicators for Sustainable Port Development

This session will examine the role of the circular economy in driving port sustainability, with a focus on how to measure circularity using meaningful indicators.

Key questions to be debated:

• What are the benefits of integrating circular strategies into port operations and reporting?
• How can ports foster innovation and collaboration through circular practices?

Workshop 2: Calming the Waters – Delivering Sustainable Cruise Operations

This workshop will explore both the positive impacts and contentious challenges of cruise operations—shifting the focus from purely economic concerns to the environmental, social, and cultural dimensions of sustainability.

• What challenges and strategic recommendations could shape sustainability in the cruise industry?
• How can we bridge the gap between policy and practice to better support local communities and economies?
