Real-time monitoring to speed up the queries process

A new piece of kit that can receive both voice and text-based queries and send back the answer as a real-time text message aims to speed up the queries process at terminals.

Clever monitoring: Inform’s new AI chatbot technology allows quick and convenient access to KPI data

Inform’s new AI chatbot’s unique selling point is that it can be used by anyone with no prior training needed, allowing quick and convenient access to KPI data.

“Management, with no previous training in the system, can ask for key performance indicators (KPIs) on demand enabling them to quickly access KPI data on the fly in a manner that is convenient to them,” Matthew Wittemeier, logistics division, Inform, told Port Strategy.

“We’ve seen certain user groups gradually move away from checking statistics in the application andtransition to asking the system questions via the chatbot. This follows their natural language and communication habits and is straight forward and convenient.”

User engagement

Further Mr Wittemeier added, as the chatbot can receive questions from various sources, it frees up users to engage with the system in new and spontaneous ways.

Inform’s chatbot will shortly become an add-on extension of Germany’s KTL Kombi-Terminal Ludwigshafen’s current business intelligence. A project to install the technology at the terminal is expected to complete sometime in 2018.

A1 Chatbot is available for use with Inform’s SyncroTESS operational system and its analytics partner platform, Qlik Sense.
