Cerescorp opts for Liebherr cranes in Montreal

Industry Database

Liebherr Container Cranes has committed to supply one post panamax crane to Cerescorp's Termont Terminal during the third quarter 2007.

In another example of the company's lateral thinking the team is studying the deployment of the straddle carrier for other commodities with similar weights and measurements in other industries - steel slabs for example.

The new crane, with an outreach of 42.90m enabling operation on vessels with 16 containers across deck, will join two existing Liebherr cranes at the Montreal terminal.

Four Liebherr RTGs are also due for delivery to this terminal during the second quarter of 2007. Those units will increase the number of Liebherr RTG's working at the facility to six.
