All-electric first for Bromma

Spreader specialist Bromma has unveiled an all-electric separating twin-lift spreader. A hydraulic powerpack means that the STS45E is lighter, quieter and cheaper to run, with the manufacturer claiming a saving of an estimated $40,000 in lifetime energy costs.

A prototype was delivered to Felixstowe in March and the company said that it is now able to take orders for delivery in January 2008.

Another innovation announced by Bromma introduces the next generation of its spreader control and communications system. The SCS3 features fast fault diagnostics and spreader prognostics, a first for the industry.
