Justin Atkin, Port Representative - UK & Ireland, for the Port of Antwerp is confirmed as a Speaker for the Coastlink Conference.

Justin’s presentation will focus on Brexit as a catalyst to the re-engineering of supply chains, and a modal shift from accompanied trailer to containers. Located close to the main European markets and connected to more than 1,000 ports globally, the Port of Antwerp is perfectly placed for both short sea and deep-sea feeder routes with the UK & Ireland.

Born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire (UK) in 1971, Justin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Humanities, from the University of Humberside (Hull). His first position in the maritime industry was in 1994 when he started working as a Shipping Agent for an independently owned Swedish Shipping company.

In 2000 he took up the position of Assistant Operations Manager at Associated British Ports (ABP) where he soon became Terminal Manager for the Humber International Terminal and later Head of Operations for Immingham & Grimsby. From 2011 to 2016 Justin was Commercial Manager for ABP’s four Humber ports of Goole, Grimsby, Hull and Immingham as well as Key Account Manager for a number of Group accounts.

As an experienced senior manager, Justin is a true ‘ports’ man with a strong understanding of the UK Ports industry, supply chain & key account management. In September 2018, Justin started as Representative for the Port of Antwerp in the U.K. and Ireland - focusing on key customers and building relationships with local port authorities. He also keeps an eye on all Brexit decisions and helps to maintain a close connection with the U.K.
