Industry experts from DFDS, Port of Tyne, UK Chamber of Shipping and P&O Ferrymasters lead the discussion on ‘Green corridors – collaboration to drive sustainable growth’ at Coastlink 2024.

Moderated by Richard Ballantyne OBE, Chief Executive, British Ports Association, the panel discussion will highlight the latest green corridor developments and how port stakeholders from across the industry can, and will need to collaborate, in order to create and implement the right support for zero-emissions solutions.

  • Eleni Bougioukou, Innovation Manager - Energy and Sustainability, Port of Tyne
  • Katrina Ross, Policy Director, Commercial and Governance, UK Chamber of Shipping
  • Nils Minor, Head of Key Account Management, P&O Ferrymasters

Jesper Christensen, Operations Director at DFDS will join the conversation to discuss how the company are currently investing in green corridors, and how through collaboration with key ports, these routes are being successfully planned and implemented.

Nils Minor, Head of Key Account Management at P&O Ferrymasters will provide integral insight into P&O Ferrymasters’ innovative vision towards green corridors and how the transition to net zero is prioritised through key partnerships.

Katrina Ross, Policy Director, Commercial and Governance at the UK Chamber of Shipping will represent the key trade association and voice of the UK shipping industry. Katrina will highlight Short-sea green corridors and discuss the important of the routes remaining technologically neutral, so that they are not seen too pre-maturely - either select winners or disregard transitional solutions.

Delegates will also hear from Eleni Bougioukou, Innovation Manager - Energy and Sustainability, Port of Tyne who will present the Port’s ‘blueprint for decarbonisation of UK ports project’.
