Richard Ballantyne, Chief Executive of the British Ports Association (BPA), joins the Coastlink speaker line-up at the in-person event, being hosted by the Port of Antwerp on the 11 & 12 May 2022.

As a supporter association of the Coastlink Conference, the BPA represents over 400 ports, terminals and port facilities, accounting for 86% of UK port tonnage as well as all the major energy and passenger hubs.

Richard will join the panel discussion looking at improving efficiencies through digitalisation and innovation. The BPA currently have a long term review underway looking at port connectivity of which digital connectivity is a key component in supporting day to day activities as well as new innovation and automation.

Richard has in-depth expertise in ports, transport and environmental policy matters as well as a wide experience of the legislative process around the UK.  He is a Director of Maritime UK and was previously a Director of Port Skills and Safety Ltd.
