Port exercise targets drone threats

In response to heightened security threats such as cyberattacks and extreme weather, the Port of Hueneme, California recently led the 2025 Coastal Trident Security Exercise, a two-day event focused on strengthening emergency preparedness and security coordination

Held at the FATHOMWERX lab, the exercise brought together port tenants and workers, business leaders, Naval Base Ventura County and more than 20 public safety and emergency agencies.

This year’s event focused on Maritime Security (MARSEC) level changes and the increasing threat posed by drones to port infrastructure and vessel operations.
